Digital Drilling Product Manager (DDPM) Responsibilities:   The Digital Drilling Product Manager is involved in the design and/or modification of digital systems used to improve the performance and/or reduce the cost of drilling operations.   The DDPM is responsible for defining the why, when, and what of the product that the engineering team builds.   Primary Responsibilities:
  • Interacts with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their problems and needs. The analyst gathers, documents, and analyzes business needs and requirements.
  • Facilitates workshops to create use cases and high-level product requirements related to improving the performance and lowering the cost of drilling operations.
  • Converts use cases to test scenarios for product testing.
  • Determines customers' needs and desires by doing market research and working with sales, operations, and key stakeholders
  • Together with the Executive Leadership Team, recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products.
  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtains product market share by working with VP Business Development to develop product sales strategies.
  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and internal teams using the software.
  • Provides input for product pricing by utilizing market research data with the sales team on product positioning
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Must Have:  
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in a Product Manager/technical business analyst role for software projects
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to solve difficult problems creatively
  • Experience in creating clear and concise use cases, requirements, and technical documentation
  • Ability to write very detailed requirements documentation for development team to know exactly what they are building.
  • Ability to work across organizational teams
  • Knowledge of software projects
    Great to have:  
  • Work experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Prior experience in Market Analysis
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering or comparable technical degree
  • B.S in Petroleum and Chemical Engineering
